5 Thing Friday! You should give it a try…

So the five things I felt the need to bring under your attention is things you should try, maybe not today, but SOON!!

  1. Pimms N0. 1 Cup – I tried this today (for the first time!) and fell in love. Head first, head over heels, in love. Gosh!!! It’s bloody Brilliant!!!Porch Swing; I pretty much just want to sip fancy fruity drinks by the pool and read with friends all summer long.
  2. Campari – On ice, with just a slice of lemon – This one got introduced to me by Robbie the Foreigner, and, fuck me, it’s amazing!! How I have missed this, my whole life, I haven’t the faintest. But now I have discovered it, and need it daily!!!Americano. This drink was a favorite of American expats during Prohibition. Prior to then it was known as the Milano-Torino, for the cities where its two main ingredients were first made: Milan (Campari) and Turin (sweet vermouth).
  3. Rainbow Rowell – I discovered Eleanor and Park by accident, and halfway through the book, I think I might just like Rainbow Rowell almost as much as John Green!Eleanor and Park by Rainbow Rowell
  4. Being strong… I don’t do this enough, and wish I could. But this week I seriously needed to put my big girl panties on, and be strong. And now, its almost a week, and I’m alive. Some People Think That To Be Strong Is To Never Feel Pain.
  5. Letting go and just enjoy… Letting your inner child take control and making memories, without thinking about the what if’s, the tomorrows, the maybes. Just doing, because it seems like a great idea.Inner Child - The secret of genius ... is to carry the Spirit of the Child into old age.

It’s not freezing anymore!! Just though I’d share that with y’all. It’s still cold, but at least now I can hang up the washing without it freezing… =]

5. Go Coffeeshop hopping with friends, check out all the local coffeeshops, compare them and maybe get a new favorite!

Well after careful [not really] consideration, I choose today’s topic. Mostly because I have a few things I really wanna rant about! Lemme first list them for you, so you decide if you still want to read…

5. Justin Bieber…

First off I want to honestly say that I do not have a problem with his music [or that he sings like a twelve year old girl] I have a problem with the fact that so many clueless little kids are falling over their feet for him! Don’t they know that he is just another normal person?! This is completely above my head to comprehend, how is it normal for tweens to suffer nervous breakdowns or causing a rampage?

What also bothers me is that he says he wants a ‘cougar’?!?! WHAT? Is it normal for a 16-year old to talk like this? Why is this not frowned upon, but laughed at?

4. Twilight

Well actually this is based on the whole ‘saga’. The people who know me know my confused feelings on Twilight, I like the movies not the books, and I like the idea but not all of it. Well let me start at the beginning… Or rather more systemized! I enjoy the movies [and books] because it is a good STORY! The whole idea SM had was amazing, and if it was brought through beter, it would have been incredible. But then there are the problems… She really can’t write, vampires NEVER sparkle, and they BURN in the sun. Anything else is absurd unless there is a rational explanation [like Vampire Diaries’ rings]. The whole saga is taken a bit too far according to me; I reckon she could have stopped after the first, because there the story was already exhausted!!

3. Men….

Hmmmmmm, how many times can we rant about them before we used up our amount of freak out? I personally think men should be ranted about daily, because it helps us, and well it prevents us from killing them! Men are so… Conceited! They want you to like them, but when you do, they don’t. When you finally get over them, they go on and on about when you did like them. Do I make sense?  No? Well, never mind that’s normal for me. But I mean, why must men always be on our minds? While I’m ranting, I am still thinking about men, and they are so happy with this ‘hold’ they have over us. I am now single for about 1 and a half months and honestly. I have never been happier. But still I think about men!! ARGH!!!!! Idiots….

Let’s try and be absolute girls, go for manicures and facials, go for GNO’s. ENJOY ourselves without them!!

2. Fake friends…

Wow… so much to say on this subject!!! I despise people who try to be people who they aren’t. Those only texting you when they want something. Those so obsessed with themselves that they don’t really listen when you talk; they only wait for an opening so that they can go on about their lives. This is absurd! Sure, I am also guilty of neglecting my friends, but I try my best not to, some days you just are TOO busy to faff over everyone. But I will always be there when someone needs me. I enjoy helping my friends; I enjoy making them feel beter and most off all I will never let a friend down!!

1. The Vampire Fad

Yes, vampire’s again…

This really annoys me [as you noticed]. Suddenly everyone LOVES vamp’s. They read every book, they watch every show, every movie everything! But why? Because it’s a trend! I read vampire novels before Twilight, I watched vampire stories before Twilight, but some of these people only do so because of Twilight and will stop once it is over. They don’t admire the myths, the beauty of ‘old’ vampires. The think they sparkle….

Sure there are WONDERFUL new vamp books:

  • The Vampire Academy
  • Vampire diaries.

But these books are wonderful because of one simple reason, with a few MINOR adjustments they stay true to the myths and legends!! If you want to read a true vamp book, try The Vampire Chronicles by Anne Rice…

I am not trying to diss anything, but I just feel that vampires [or any other fictional character] should be loved because they are true to form and really ‘understood’ not just because it’s some fad and everyone is reading or watching it!

Hello Bloggers!!

I feel so bad ’cause I missed my own ‘five thing Friday’… Well let’s make it a five thing Sunday for now?!

Today it’s all about remembering!! Five things to remember, when you’re down, when you’re sad or just when you’re bored!!

5. Your friends and family

I know I talk alot about friends and family but it’s just because they are the people who KNOW you, who will dry your eyes after a break-up. Who will bad mouth your ex just to make you feel better. Who will go out ‘man-hunting’ with you even though they are not in the mood. It comes down to this, if you’re sad they WILL cheer you up. Because you matter to them!

4. Being silly

Now there’s a few things under this one, like playing hide and seek, giggling when your crush finds you in a dark closet. Twirling around and falling on the grass, laying there for hours staring at the clouds and making pictures! Singing out loud and not caring who hears. Just let loose a bit and ENJOY live!!!

3. Dancing in the rain…

There’s a quote I love [no idea who said it first!] “whoever said sunshine brings happiness have never danced in the rain” and it’s so true! I mean, just twirling with these little drops of heaven falling on you, skipping around with you best friend and just enjoying the rain, instead of running and crying about your hair getting messed up.

2. Being silent

Lol, kind of a let down after the above. But can you remember the last time when you just sat and think. Think about yourself, other people, live, everything! It kind of makes you feel awake again…


I loooooooooooove coloring in, I have my own coloring book, crayons, pencils, pastels. And every now and then [mostly when I experience writers block] I color. When I’m bored, I color. And it is really therapeutic! It makes you think, it makes you feel young.

This is just me messing around tonight, rediscovering my artistic self and wasting my time.. But it was FUN!!! That is what live is suppose to be about, having fun, being yourself and most importantly, never letting go of YOURSELF!!

Hey!! And ‘welcome’ to Five Things Friday!

Fridays is all about five things, and today it’s five things you should take time for every day. FOR YOURSELF.

5. Blast music and dance!

Why? Because it’s great exercise, it helps release pent up energy and just fun! Try songs like Starstrukk by 3OH!3 or Good Girls Gone Bad by Cobra Starship.

4. Take an hour or so to just watch our fav show.

Forget about everything and be selfish for a while. Watch a show YOU want to watch. Why? because you deserve it! Whether it’s Gossip Girl. Vampire Dairies, 90210, Grey’s or even on Disney channel. Do it!

3. Drink LOTS of water.

Ya, ya I know not really in line with the rest, but it is good for you, and it makes you feel better. I am the forerunner for coffee, but in a honesty coffee do make you feel more awake! And it helps you on the road to losing weight [if you wanna!]

2. Exercise…

Not really uplifting! But it makes you feel better. Even if you don’t like to exercise, just stretch or do a few yoga moves. Your body feels better!!

1. Take an hour [or less if you don’t have the time] for just YOU

Read a book, play around on your computer, chill, discover your creative spirit, just do something just for you! Sure the hour TV was already for you, but is it really RELAXING?

Hope these work for you, ’cause they sure do for me!
